Volunteer Opportunities

Special Olympics

• Work with our Special Olympiads as an assistant or coach. Bowling, bocce ball, and track are offered
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Some training required

Activity Friend

• Share you time and talents with one of our residents or an entire program. Bike riding, taking walks, playing games, doing crafts and playing music, are just some of the possibilities
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Some training required

Adopt a Yard

• Show off your lawn and garden skills by adopting one of our homes’ yards. Plant flowers, trim bushes, rake leaves, etc., in this great family opportunity

Activities Leader

• Run a weekly or monthly activity for a gathering of our residents. Activities such as bingo night, game night or a birthday club are just some ideas
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Some training required

Employee Company Picnic

• This annual event is held every August to show our appreciation to our wonderful staff. Work a shift as a bingo caller, card dealer, inflatable games supervisor, and more

Annual Resident Picnic/Luau

• Every July our NER families join together for a summer picnic and dance. Help with set up, food, and/or clean up

Annual Bonfire

• Our fall fun night is held each year in October. Enjoy a bonfire, dinner and costumes with our NER family. Help with set up, food, and/or clean up

Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive

• During the final weekend of April, we team up with the Knight of Columbus to raise funds for persons with developmental disabilities
• Hand out Tootsie Rolls in front of local grocery stores and business and collect donations

Annual Fundraising Dinner

• Held in late May or Early June each year. This event brings NER families and supporters together for a night of dinner, socializing, live and silent auctions
• You can help as little or as much as you like. You can serve on the auction committee, help acquire auction items, or help on the day of the event with registration, set up, live-auction, and/or clean up

Driving For Dreams Golf Tournament

• Held in August or September each year. Our golf tournament offers a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the day. You can help with morning set-up and registration, the many events throughout the day, and/or the dinner after the tournament
