Most openings we have are direct support positions, however, occasionally we have openings for management position, primarily Program Supervisors or Program Coordinators. Each employee is responsible for ensuring that the mission of Northeast Residence is carried out throughout their workday through their interactions with the people we serve, while they are in their home or in the community.

Direct Support Professional (DSP):

  • Provides daily support to individuals with developmental disabilities so they may participate in their community and live their lives to the fullest. Develop meaningful relationships and connections with individuals, provide them with a safe living environment, teach tasks individuals may learn to do for themselves, and assist with any tasks individuals cannot do for themselves such as cooking, housekeeping, bathing, and toileting, taking medications, going to work, shopping, driving, and managing money.

Lead Direct Support Professional

  • Assist the Program Coordinator or Manager of a program in carrying out daily responsibilities for operations, care of individuals, and programs. Provides daily support to individuals with developmental disabilities so they may participate in their community and live their lives to the fullest. Develop meaningful relationships and connections with individuals, provide them with a safe living environment, teach tasks individuals may learn to do for themselves, and assist with any tasks individuals cannot do for themselves such as cooking, housekeeping, bathing, and toileting, taking medications, going to work, shopping, driving, and managing money.

Program Coordinators:

  • Responsible for the daily operation of the program site, including each individual’s matters, staffing, and household management.  Specific duties include advocating for and supporting people with whatever their needs are daily, taking individuals to medical appointments, scheduling, supervising and training staff, banking, doing direct care, involving people in their communities, grocery shopping, etc.  The Program Coordinator works alongside the Designated Coordinator, Assistant Program Director, and Program Director to work together as a team to provide quality services for the individuals at the site.

Program Supervisors/Designated Coordinators

  • Complete all job tasks as a Program Coordinator would do, in addition, work with the development and implementation of the Coordinated Service Support Plan Addendum and Individual Abuse Prevention Plan for all people within the program.  The Supervisor/Designated Coordinator is a leader in the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) comprised of the person, family, day program or school, County Case Manager, and guardians to develop individual support plans for each person served.  The Supervisor/Designated Coordinator serves as an advocate for the person.  The Supervisor/Designated Coordinator is required to assist with county, state, and federal licensing reviews as requested by the Assistant Program Director and Program Director.  This position does require an advanced degree and/or experience in the field.
